Can you drive a truck to Haws or Renegade? No
Can you drive a car in to the marina? When I was up there on Sunday it would have been a challenge due to snow depth on the road in some spots. It needed to be plowed for cars, don't know if that has happened this week.
Just got back from Strawberry Marina and the road is slicker than snot on a doorknob. It appears they haven't plowed it at all. No problem with four-wheel drive; however, without it could be a challenge. No snow tires or four-wheel drive forget it.

How was it today? I am going up in the morning.
Note, Kents post was about one hour before you asked about today, so I would say, that is a pretty current report.

How was the fishing?

It was slow close to The Marina. I had my three granddaughters who THOUGHT that they wanted to go ice fishing. After they went up to the restaurant and I walked out where I wanted to fish I caught 1, lost one at the hole and missed a bite from about 10:45 to 11:30.
I must say that the folks at The Strawberry Marina treated my wife really kindly while she waited at the restaurant, and we had a generous and tasty lunch there today, at a very reasonable price, especially for where it is located.

I was at Strawberry today until 1 pm. We got there at 7 am. temp was -5 at arrival and 23 when we left. Yes, the road can be driven to the marina with an auto or 2 wheel drive vehicle. I pulled a snowmobile in and stopped at the guard station at the head of the renegade road turnoff. Two trucks drove the road over towards Renegade. None made it. They tore the road up somewhat. 4 wheel drive, big tires and lift kit and they think they can go anywhere. We rode the snowmobile to Renegade and had the bay to ourselves by the boat ramp. Another group came in and fished over by the channel to soldier creek. We had steady action for the time we were there. We iced 26 cutt's, 4 rainbow's and 1 kokanee. The koke was 12 inches, the bows were all 17 and 18 inches, the cutt's were between 17 and 20. Fishing was steady until we ran out of time and had to leave. The ice measured 10 inches thick with about an inch of snow on top. All was clear and hard. You may be able to drive over the ice to renegade with a snow mobile. Not sure how thick the ice is out in the middle of the lake. I will wait another week before trying it, or let someone else be the first. Hope this helps. We used white jigs and wax worms.
Not a bad 1st ice fishing outing for the winter. We will be going back tomorrow and try by the channel.

Great report. Glad you got in to the fish.
Heard there is open water in parts of SC so I would guess the springs heading to Renegade are open too. So we will take the road instead of the top side of the lake.
Thanks
