Wanting to see if anybody has made an effort this year or in years past to fish the west shore of Scofield. Is it even accessible? On google maps I can see that you can take Church street from the town of Scofield and head north along the west shore, but do they keep the road plowed? Are there places to park off the road or is it all private property? The distance to the island seems much shorter from the west so it seems like a good idea. Just wondering if it is worth the effort or if I should just stick to the east side.

I have fished it alot in previous years, but haven't been over yet this year. there is good access. In years previous the snow has been plowed for parking, and there has been a porta-potty over there. Not sure what the conditions are this year. The shore is fenced over there, but there is a gate for access by the parking. You can park at the snowmobile parking, but that is quite a walk. Keep going and park by the gate and walk down on the ice. Fishing is good on the west side. Move around till you find some weed beds and fish the edges of the weed bed. Give it a try and let us know how you did!
