Just wondering if anybody's favorite spot at the berry is Chicken Creek. I usually end up fishing at Chicken creek and I never do great. I'll catch some fish here and there, but I never have a 10+ fish day. And for whatever reason, I usually end up going back there. Sometimes I'll move AFTER having fished there, but maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment. Kinda hoping to branch out and get into some more Strawberry locations this year. The only places I've really ice fished are Chicken Creek, Mud Creek, and the Marina. And they are all usually full of other fisherman.

Any suggestions on other locations to try?

How much difference do large crowds on the ice make anyway?

Are you able to be mobile on the lake (i.e. 4 wheeler or snowmobile)? I've found that some of the better locations are accessible by traveling a little further than what most anglers are willing to do.

Not mobile...yet. But I haven't ruled out using skis to get a little further off the beaten path. Or even one of these contraptions: [Wink]

I've had a lot of 20+ fish days at Chicken. Just walk along the west shore until you get near the point/island channel (depending on water level). We drill holes from 15ft to 30ft depths and move around until we start catching fish. Rainbows will be closer to shore cutts out deeper. Never had anyone else out by us so that does help.
