I posted it on the Idaho board about a month ago as I see it as a killer idea for fighting bigger fish.

I have witnessed people grabbing the rod to help fight big fish and on several occasions the rod will snap. They are built to fight all the way through the cork.
This is cool and solves a lot of problems but would also take some getting use to I think. I gather it is their rod and reel as well. Not knowing the action of their rod, I would have to feel it before purchasing.
This is a feasible idea though.

Hmm.... Another fishing theory I don't understand. What's the point in making a handle that's 18"+ long, that probably doesn't balance where the rod should? If you wanted to use more of the lower section, wouldn't having a smaller handle do this? Then again, the rod wouldn't balance with the reel when lined.
Secondly, I don't like the open slot at the top of the handle. I can see me tangling line time and time again on that thing. It would get annoying.
Not to say it's heavier, but it definitely looks heavier with their click in real system. Most rods I have, the reel seats nearly weigh nothing!
They claim this rod is more sensitive? I'm not sure how you can take the same blank, one with this handle, the other with a typical cork handle. I don't see how having moment in that handle, is going to feel better and more sensitive then being 1:1 with the rod! If you want more sensitivity, you'll want to go the other direction and get a handle that's more dense (solid) then cork! A composite model handle would come to my mind is saying it... It would be solid (solid being the kicker as cork is pretty solid in itself) against the rod blank, but not only that, it would be lighter! Again, you're comparing with cork, not much weight there.

I imagine it like a straw in a flask. The straw is independent with the flask as a holding device. Compared to that same straw with tape wrapped around it. The Tape like the cork is restricting the straw from bending so tot speak to the end, where as the flask lets is bend all the way. Tough call. Again I get the theory.
But I am old school and definitely need to FEEL the idea.

We can use that logic, somewhat. So when you go to cast that flask & straw (if you could), which one would you say will cast the best... Hitting 10 & 2 without drift. Nice, good thrust back & stop... good thrust forward & stop... The straw that's independent in the flask is going to drift, creating a "weaker" cast. Then the flask with the taped straw having a good solid cast.
Having a fish on will feel less sensitive as you've now added a shock absorber to the handle. Better?
Again... I like Simple!

I gotta agree with you totally as we try to imagine what they say. Again, I would have to try it to fully comment. The negatives you bring up would keep "me" from forking out any money without that trial.

Another note on the casting, that little amount of play/drift will affect accuracy as well. I'd be curious to see what the loops look like compared to a normal rod. I'd be will to bet the loops on a normal rod will be a lot tighter.

The handle looks so thick, I think you would get a hand cramp and hand fatigue from that thing!

In my video it is used more as a two hander and they do make it look easier.

That's kind of my thought too. A needless reinvention of the mousetrap.

Nope. Don't get it, or see it catching on.
