Hi all,
I posted on the fly fishing page about a fly box some friends of mine are trying to get funded on kickstarter, but after having talked to them about their prototype tests they mentioned something that peaked my interest for ice fishing. They said that a portion of their prototype testing involved them using the box to cary ice flies and small jigs for ice fishing in the freezing weather.
I've never thought to use a fly box, the kind with the foam and slits, to hold my ice jigs. I guess this is because they are a bit heavy for the foam to handle, but the material these guys are using (silicone), from what they say, anchors the hooks strong enough, even in cold temps, for this to be effective.
Has anyone ever tried to use a fly box to cary ice flies or jigs?
What are your thoughts about using the box they designed for ice flies / jigs?
It seems like it would be nice to not have 10 jigs in one compartment that are tangled up especially when you are trying to fool with them in below zero temps.
These guys liked the idea enough that they included this utilization of the technology in their patent.
What do you guys think?
