Anyone fished Little Dell this year? Just wondered if anyone ever fishes it. Seems like it could be good.

Fished it last year and had an amazing day in 20-30 ft of water. Rig it with a cast master and the top then about 1-2 ft below it a tube jig. Caught 20+ cutties in 4 hrs. Remember that place is only CATCH AND RELEASE or you will get a heavy ticket. The lake below it is no trespassing. As well you cant fish the river/creeks.

Just drove past there on Saturday, hoping to get out of the inversion for a bit. (Not high enough to get out of the inversion, btw).

Half of the lake, the Northern half, is still open water. The part that IS frozen doesn't look particularly safe, either. Lots of cracks and rotten-looking ice.

I tried it on the ice a couple years back and didn't get any love.

Thanks for the info guys. I have always wondered about that lake. There has got to be a few slobs in there with the whole catch and release rule.

Not so. From the 2014 guidebook: We had a post from a few weeks back where someone got into a few rainbows.

Quote:Little Dell Reservoir, Salt Lake County

Sounds like the rig I told you about![Wink]
The upper 1/3 is open water.

I believe it is also artificial lure and fly only. No bait, power bait. Worms, etc. allowed.

Yes yes it is.
