I've always had this fear of heights that has carried over into ice fishing / boating. Being on top of 100 ft of water would equivalent to standing 100 ft. off the ground. [:/]
Suppose on what you catch there though? Bass, blue gill? at Walcott?

The deepest part of Walcott is 40ft, I've got a 200 hp merc there the ins company didn't want to recover. Walcott is a river, but when it's full the back of the bays are like a lake. The bio mass of food is amazing in the main channel. Ice fishing is kinda slow, but the fish are mostly 20 in plus.

Thanks for such an in depth look at the lake.

wow really I would figured they would have no choice but to recover it. do you have gps coordinates would be fun to dive on for a training mission [

Sorry I whimed out yesterday. Last sat. I sat in the wind, I just couldn't work up enough ambition to get out there with the wind.

It hit the water at 4000 rpm the jack plate broke, the lower unit and stainless steel prop are probably good. I could show ya the spot. This 50 degree weather and wind has put an end to the ice. Think sturgeon!

I bet that was a little scary,Yea that would be cool its always fun to find stuff, the bay below American falls dam is a blast except for all the barb wire. I hear ya drove up to wallcott and where we fished it last time is open water and i think there was 8 inches of ice [frown]

Dang man! That's
to hear

One major difference being on water vs say a tall building, or cliff. If you fall in the water, short of wearing cement galoshes, you should float. While a cliff jump would lead fo a rapid decent.
Tying up some steelhead flies today. That wind just didn't make it very fun to be out in. Nothing wrong with taking a day to prep for the following week. [bob

I'm confident in my swimming ability, just not my ice breaking ability.
