I fished my first FLW Rayovac (used to be the Everstart) series this past week on Lake Okeechobee. This was my first trip to Okeechobee as well. I fished as a co-angler and traveled with a friend of mine from Canton Ga, and he fished as a boater. We left home on January 2nd to start prefishing on the 3rd. We maily looked the lake over as far as areas on Friday as it was his frist trip there also. We caught several fish between Friday and Monday, but sat on the side lines for Tuesday and Wednesday with boat trouble. Got the boat back together on Wednesday afternoon so that he could fish on Thursday. I drew Ramie Colson Jr as my boater on Thursday and we were in areas with lots as fish and lots of BIG fish as well, but neither of us could manage to put them all in the boat. He ended the day with 4 small keepers, and I ended it with two keepers, one of them be 6lbs + and another small keeper. I had 8 lbs even and in 40th place. Day two didn't go as good as my boater just was not on any fish. I had two bites all day and ended the day with 2.13 lbs and drop to 101st place. I did manage to get a check which I felt proud of, with it be my first Rayovac event.

I want to give a big Thank you to following people and business's for their help and support in me with my first FLW Rayovac event and season. With out the following, I would NOT have been able to do what I do. First off, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ, for with out him, none of this would be possible. I say want to thank my lovely wife Stacey Harmon for her understanding and support of my fishing and dreams. I want to Thank Doug Yates of Doug Yates Towing and Recovery, Ed Ricklefs of Choo Choo Lures, John N Tracie Bailey of Producer Jigs and Swimbaits, Shane O'Neal and Stacey Callahan O'Neal of Tow Boat Us / Southern Marine Towing and all the great folks of Miller Industries for their continued support! I would also like to thank my travel partner Laith Reagin for allow me to travel and pre-fish with him this season....."GATA"!!!! I am looking forward to many more of these events. I met a lot of new friends, and learned a lot of new things about fishing and life. Thank you!!!

As for the fishing report, all of my fish that I weighed in were caught on a Producer Swim Bait 4.5' sexy swimmer made by John Bailey rigged up with a 3/16oz Tungeston weight pegged and a 5/0 heavy wire wide gap hook. I waould just slow roll it through the thicker grass for a more subtle bait. When the wind would get up, and we were in a little more scattered grass, I would throw a Choo-Choo customs shaker head rigged with a 3.5" Producer Swim bait sexy swimmer.
