I just read on the Yuba state park web site that you must release all yellow perch is that an old web page that has not been updated or is that true ???????

Current Regulations:
[ul][li]Anglers must release all Yellow Perch (this is to allow the population to rebound after draining the reservoir)[/li][li]Statewide Trout/Salmon/Grayling limit: 4 fish (in the aggregate)[/li][li]Two poles may be used if a 2-pole permit is purchased[/li][li]Special Walleye Restrictions apply (see proclamation)
[/li][/ul]

according to the fishing guide book there's no special regulations about perch. I would go by that not what the website says. I'd be willing to bet that they're just recommending releasing all perch to help with a population.

[#0000FF]That is definitely old info. The no-perch regulation was in effect for about 2-3 years, to allow the newly planted perch to repopulate without harvest by anglers. When it was reopened to perch possession, the limit was 10...even though the perch had exploded and were thick throughout the lake. Then the carp and pike began to clean them out and by the time the perch were low in numbers again...taaaa daaaa...the limit was raised to 50 perch.

With the planned transplant this spring I wonder if they will got back to that reg?

[#0000FF]No way to second guess what the regs might be...or how soon they will be put in place...or if the lake will go dry before the new residents get a chance to survive and prosper.

Like a solution to hunger and world peace. A great idea if it will only work.
