Picked my 8 year old son up from school today and had the boat in tow. Didn't get on the water til 4pm and started fishing in an area that has been producing pretty well. Not long after getting there I got a nice 3.5lber and told Mason to throw where I just caught that one. He tells me he thinks he's hung when I see his rod tip start thrashing around. After a bit I see a big mouth surface and get super excited, as we had been boating some big bass from the area. I let him play the fish all by himself and in just a bit netted a nice 4.5lber, which blows away his previous best of 1.5lbs. No picture, he didn't think he could hold it and I was too excited for him to think about me holding it and letting him take a pic. After that only boated one more about 2.5lbs before leaving at 5:30. Not a bad 1.5 hours and he wants me to start picking him up from school with the boat, so it's a definite win!
