I haven't heard anything about the Gorge parking permit but I did get my application for the State parks pass in the mail yesterday. I see there is no discount for getting it early, in the past it's been $5.00 cheaper if you get it before Jan.31th. Oh well, all good things must come to an end. WH2

Wouldnt surprise me. Seems like most places are raising the fees these last few years.
I just hope it levels off, for a while again before the next round of increases hits.
Its kind of a double edged sword though. Take for example willard bay this year. Since the parks dept, who owns the ramps, has no control over water levels, couldnt make any money. They lost out on a HUGE ammount of money. Same story at deer creek, utah lake, and many others.
Its like any other buisness, the cost of running a buisness never goes down, its always on the increase. But when sales go down, or money is needed to improvments, or new development, you have to find a way to increase revenue.
Poor old willard bay spent some big money last couple years, putting in an extra ramp lane, fish cleaning stations, new parking lots, pavillions, and so it made nessescary to raise fees, then with the drought, boats not being able to launch killed them. Kind of like buying a new house, new truck, new boat and loosing your job.
when you loose a 1/4 million on revenue in one year its got to hurt.
