After lunch today, I decided at last to go fishing for a short while. It was such a beautiful sunny day and I wanted to see what the water temps were and if the fish were active. Water temp was 45.2 in the river.

I landed 7 keepers and 3 undersized crappie today. All caught on Bobby Garland 2" baby shads and most were in the Monkey Milk color, although full moon landed a couple.

I used a slip floater today and caught the first 2 fish before I went back to tight lining. I didn't have a good bobber stopper and the bobber kept getting above my stopper, so I gave that up until I get some good stoppers. Some fish were shallow and some were deep. I fished extremely slow today and bites were subtle.

I asked Mrs Drumking if she would pick me up at the ramp at 4:15. I wanted to get back to see the ball game today and wouldn't you know it. The feeding period was at 3:50 and she called me at 4:10 and told me that she was on her way to back the trailer in the water. We live less than a mile from the ramp, so I knew that I didn't have many casts left. I told her on the phone that I would make one more cast and start toward the ramp. I caught 3 in a row and just had to stop. I wonder how many I couldn't have caught if I had time to stay with them. The biggest fish I caught was the very last one too. I didn't get a pic of it. emoBang

emoBig emoGeezer
