Finally felt warm enough to get out about 1:30. Invited my neighbor, Kirk, to come with me. Glad I asked him, cause if it had been up to what I caught, I wouldn't have much of a report. Thought about running into a creek, but I pulled into the mouth of a pocket I've gotten a few in lately. I start with the trap, Kirk starts with a jerkbait. I stink with a jerkbait! About 10 min. in, I look back & Kirk is bowed up! Works it in & I get to lip a pretty 6.25#! I foul hook a 10" gizzard shad on the trap. Kirk then sets the hook on another bass, then another! I throw my jerkbait for a bit, nothing. Then Kirk catches another bass, this one a keeper! I throw a silver buddy & set the hook on a good drum, probably 5-6#! emoBawl Then Kirk gets another 2.5#er emoWorthy . I pick up the trap again & foul hook another big gizzard shad! I finally get the jerkbait & keep throwin it emoDoh , & catch a 2.5# LM. Tried one other area as the wind got stronger & colder, then headed in at 4:30. Water temps were 40.5* to 42.5*. Fun few hours, but I've got to get better with that jerkbait! Kirk, thanks for coming along & kickin my butt!! emoRedface
