It's a stupid simple tutorial, but for the few who may be interested, here it is. Hope it's helpful. If someone has a better idea for attaching them to the rod, I would love to hear it.

Unless you don't want the spring bobber to be permanently attached you can wrap and tie it place like you would a rod guide when building a rod and then coat it in epoxy.

I'm not sure where the video went. Just realized it wasn't showing up on the original post. Fixed it, and you can see the youtube tutorial now. Sorry bout that!

That's definitely one I hadn't considered. I would be a bit nervous having it be a permanent part of the rod, but it would certainly look less ghetto! Thanks for the idea. Maybe tying in onto the rod like tying a fly would work, and you could clip the thread when you wanted it off... hmmmm.

what about heating up the tip removing the guide and heat shrink tubing reinstall the tip ?

Now there's an idea. I wonder if there is a material that would allow you to shrink-wrap it on without removing the top of the rod. Sounds like I need to consult the almighty google.

That is exactly how I do it.

I make ones like in the first picture out of two different diameter of wire. They can be removed and slid back and forth to store them.
