Well the kid made the paper again. This time it was his Cascade perch he caught Jan 20th which was my birthday. I couldn't buy a jumbo for nothing that day but Avery catching his toad was the best present ever. I gotta thank Untangler and Nepetbutler for a awesome day on the ice.

I even saw his picture get posted to a sporting goods store FB page in northern ID. Avery's going viral.

That is so awesome! I can tell you from first hand experience that this kid is the real deal - he has the shining to be sure. I watched him catch this fish by himself and he handled it like a pro. Besides being a great kid, he is lucky to have parents who spend a lot of time with him and expose him to the great outdoors. Keep those photos coming.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm really proud of this young man and it brings a tear to my eye thinking the days are numbered that he will want to hangout with me. It's not far off, and I know it, but I will have a hard time accepting it regardless.

You a smart guy. You are preparing your self for what might be inevitable. I thought my son would be the exception and that did not happen. I didn't lose out until he figured out what girls are. Then not even catching sturgeon in pontoons can compete with a pretty girl. I do think they find their way back after a while though. At least that is what I am hoping. Ron
