Headed up super early to Palies yesterday. Should have known to go get back in bed when I pulled into KJ's and had no lights on my four wheeler trailer. Skated up to reservoir half the time in four wheel drive. Didn't realize they had gotten approx. 12-15 inches of snow in that last storm. When I turned into Blow out someone had cut trail but it still looked kind of hairy considering my tires on truck are just AT's. When I got to bottom is when I got stuck. Spent till first lite digging out. By then all desire to fish was gone, so I turned right around and headed home. Stopped by Ririe on way back. Open water from east side of dam all the way to the boat ramp. This will be first time in a long time that I haven't been able to fish there in the winter. Did see a lone wolf across from rest area, black and grey in color and huge, that's my first with my own eyes. Looked like it was in the 150lb. range. About ran my truck off the side of the road when I saw it, they are an impressive sight. Wish some kind of balance could be achieved with those beauties. Did come home and caught a few at Gem Lake, day wasn't a complete wash. Better a day of attempted fishing than work, right??? Glad you were able to salvage the day and nice brown going to have to go look at gem someday as i would love to catch some browns threw the ice [cool]

I've thought about puttin the boat in. Saw some jet boaters up there last week. think they were just testing them out before they headed to the river. It would be a cold float out there. It will be interesting to see if the spring fishing is any better since the ice fisherman haven't been there, not sayin there's not enough for both though.

I went up to Ririe early in the middle of the week last year and everybody was getting their boats out for first time and putting in water to make sure all was ok. The fuzz had them all lined up and were ticketing them even before they could get in the water. He told me he had wrote over fifty (50) citations that morning. I think they lick they chops for that time every year.

That is why I am posting the reminder , maybe save some of my bft friends a ticket that costs way more than the regestration .
