We hit Woodruff about 1:00, we got a late start and then my son-in-laws 4runner started to overheat just between the town of Woodruff and Evanston. We finally got there and had little success. I had 2 on but only got one up through the ice. I was using a pink and white foxee jig. We tried the white crickets but got nothing on them. We left about 4 because a big storm came rolling in.It was just good to be out on the ice my first trip this year.
There were a few other people fishing. Right after they all left the DWR came in and checked our licenses. I spend alot of time up there in the summer and we have never seen the DWR up there. I wonder why they are hitting it now.

Thanks for the report Icefool, too bad the catching wasn't better. There is a late season cow elk hunt going on up there so they were probably checking for hunters in the area and decided to stop and see if anyone way fishing. How thick was the ice and how was the road up to the dam? WH2

The ice was at least 4 inches thick, the road to the dam was a little snow packed. As we were leaving I am sure it put down alot of snow.I would suggest 4 wheel drive to get in there. There was a smaller car sitting at the top.
