Typically when the water gets low in the FL Everglades these small cats make their way into the canals, you'll see them surfacing all over.

Really? I usually fish the canals along alligator alley (i75) and hwy 27 for bass and have never seen them. I would like to catch a few of these fellas and try them out, I heard they are good eating. Do you know a canal where I can go fish for them? Also what bait do you usually use?

We caught them just under the NEW one mile bridge on Tamiami canal 8 street "west side"
The Army corps of engineers removed a one mile section of the south levee which I believe caused these invasives to have access to this canal.
First time ever seeing them here,I went back to fish for them with a Sabiki but didn't see any...
You can see them surfacing in this video and soon I'll post the cast net video when we caught 8
