Curious about what everyone thinks are the best places are to go catch bass in Idaho?
Here are my votes:
1. CJ Strike
2. Swan Falls
3. Brownlee reservoir
4. Lake Lowell
5. Paddock Valley
I will agree we have some good spots to go bass fishing in Southwest Idaho. But, I rarely try to draw any attention to my favorite waters. Good fishing, Josh

Start at American Falls and go downstream clear to Hells Canyon Dam. Don't forget south fork Boise reservoirs. Not enough time in a season. CJ my favorite for varity

Owyhee is the best in the Snake drainage, but it's in Oregon
4 lb smallmouth, next cast 4 lb large, all day long!

Southwest Idaho
1. Lake Lowell
2. Oxbow
3. Swan Falls
4. Cascade
5. (tie) CJ Strike and Brownlee
Other parts of the state: Dworshak, CDA Chain Lakes, Milner and I'm probable missing others that I've never fished, specially in Southeast Idaho. And of course Owyhee in OR.

There are definitely quite a few bass waters over here on the eastern side, but I don't think they have the quality of the western waters. They're mostly small and subject to pretty serious draw downs. They're still a lot of fun, and I've managed some pretty decent fish, so I can't complain. Someday I need to get over to the western side and get into some of those big smallmouth.

I think your spot on lake lowell in the spring is hard to beat

I don't really target bass, but my list would probably go:
1.) Strike
2.) Lake Lowell
3.) Swan Falls
Drifting a float 'n' fly got me 8 smallies over 15" at Strike last night. Biggest was 18".

1.brownlee hands down for size. 2.strike can really put out some good days of catching alot. 3.oxbow most i ever caught in 1 day. 4. lowell only after last year after elk magnet showed me where. 5. cascade early is hard to beat catching 2s left and right. sorry owyhee didnt make my list due to getting smoked there a few years in a row plus it burns the most gas and takes a non resident license.

He's in 8th place as of right now, but the weigh in is still going on.

Man CJ sure is getting a lot of attention. In three years fishing I've yet to catch a 4+ out of there, and have only caught a dozen over 3.... I must be missing something!

My five are;
1. [sly]
2. Oxbow
3. Hells Canyon
4. Brownlee
5. Milner
I will take number 1 to the grave with me. I have had the pleasure to fish Lake El Salto in Mexico a few times. Last year my number 1 spot was just as good as El Salto if not better for Largemouth and that is no exaggeration. I don't know if it was a fluke or not but the fishing was unbelievable

Brandon finished the day in 24th. im pulling for him though it's still any bodies game.
my top 5 would have to be Dorwshak, Snake river here in Lewiston, Glendale (It was pretty good a few years ago.) Snake river near massacer rocks and Mann Lake( because i love to fish nasty nasty cover for largies.)

Really nice fish at massacre, but they have two fish limit. Last year we fished a two day there and I caught two fish each day. They were all over 3 but man what a long weekend. Caught some real toads in June when they're on beds.
