You really shouldn't talk sh%$ when your posting pics of dead lakers that your catching at Bear Lake. If you hold them with your fingers in their gills thats a dead fish. I sure as hell hope you keep them if you have your damn fingers crammed up in its gills. People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. A majority of people that fish Bear Lake are fairly conservative and let fish go unharmed. All I can say is wow!

A little Confused on the post. Mass crowds, complaining of people fishing and keeping fish when you put a pic of fish on the open forumn? Then the pic is removed! Why post pics for the masses to see? If you dont want people rippin lips and keeping fish, then why put pics and a post on BFT for the masses to see?

Maybe he owns Bear lake? [Wink] Maybe he paid extra for his fishing licence? [shocked] Maybe he's special? [angelic]

Thanks for pointing that out Outdoorsman. I was thinking the same thing! If you don't want people to fish your favorite body of water, keep your freaking mouth shut. If you don't and post and people start posting about your favorite body of water, you are your own assassin!

Lets not be hypocrites here either. You cannot realistically post pics of big dead fish on said body of water and then talk bad about anyone who does keep a big fish on said body of water.

Lets not be hypocrites here please.

So if I come up to Bear lake there might not be room for me to fish? when I was there last summer it seemed like a pretty big lake.

I rarely post fishing reports anymore for that reason. I know it's selfish, but for me fishing is my passion, It's one of the few things that brings me joy. So I don't post about my favorite spots. You go thru phases on websites like this. At first you want to tell everyone about what you caught, then you want to share techniques, maybe some spots, and you will see the guys with lots of posts aren't the ones telling you about every 8 inch perch they caught. I fish all the time, just over posting about it !

I have yet to figure out what this guy is complaining about.... His post has brought attention to bear lake now, and the fish pics he posted were.... Well self explanatory.

I don't post pics on this forum very often, reasons are my own, I don't care to be famous on BFT, nor do I want a following. I do however enjoy squabbles between the very serious anglers and crazy posts by some.

I do think it's funny this guy starts posting pics after pics of fish around the state, then out of the blue he posts older pics of fish he caught on "big blue" - and now is complaining because bear lake fish guy posts it's hot over here..... How many posts do people post on BFT that bear lake is hot right now???? A lot through out the year.
And to be honest, I'm not going to lie , big fish get caught year round, and even a little secret too, when the big bad masses come over it helps out the economy over here.

And apparently catching 3lb cutts and 6 lb lakers gives you ownership and wambulance rights to complain to a group of anglers who don't care.

Cracks me up! From bragging and boasting to coveting and greed.

Here's a couple pics to help everyone get fired up to go to big blue this weekend.

Yeah Don't get me wrong my girlfriend and I have kept some Big Macs from bear lake , but they went on my wall ! And if the fishes gill plates are big enough you can hold them like that as long as your not damaging there RED gills ! Yeah I know you shouldn't hold them like that but sometimes you get in the moment an it happens.

But just want to apologize to everyone offended .... I jus wanted to se if I got a reaction and I got several !

So I hope everyone has good fishin up there an you'll probably see me there ! I'll be wearing my hunter orange camo hoody .
Hope we can be chill outdoorsman1 ........

If you want to ensure big fish an ANY body of water, especially where it take 20+ years to get from 10 to 15 pounds like Bear Lake, get a REPLICA. The 15 plus pound fish over there are probably thirty years old or older! Those lakers you killed will be replaced when you are about sixty....food for thought.

You have done nothing illegal so I want to make it clear I am not upset over that, just don't criticize for something you have done yourself.

I have put every big fish I can back over there in the hopes of letting my 2 year old boy have a chance at some big fish sometime in the future.

And for the record, any time fingers touch gills, no matter the size of the fish, its a bad thing. Let someone stick something into your lungs and see what it does for you. May not kill you but will probably make you sick or shorten your life due to long term damage.

What about a carp?

I may be way off base here and if so, forgive me.
Don't we WANT to harvest some of those bigger (with bigger appetites) Lakers? Won't they eventually eat everything else? Isn't this why Yellowstone is a Catch and Kill lake?
[signature]
I agree, they can get out of control an dominate the lake . That one fat one had six 15 inch cuttys in its belly , the taxidermist said ! An maybe that's one of the reasons they have the regs on the cutts cause between lakers an humans eating them an that's why numbers are low

Ok I can be be chill....

Heres the thing..... That lake is a big enough fishery for everyone. Its not like BLFG is posting about what to use, how deep, when, and where. The lake is far enough away from any major city that it wont get swarmed on a weekend and have every fish taken out of it. That being said the lake trout is a vunerable species in that lake and its a great idea to try and practice catch and release the proper way with them. Im not an expert by no means and still have a lot to learn. That is just my thoughts, I will be out there sunday maybe we will see you out there.

Its all good
