I am done hibernating for the Winter. I have heard mixed reports about Utah Lake. One panorama shot at Lindon shows open water and others say the lake still has ice. The live Lake View is not clear enough. Can someone confirm open water at Lindon? I am going out there next week.

There is significant open water around Lindon. In fact there were boats out on the lake today that launched from Lindon and made their way through the broken ice in the harbor to the lake.

The Harbor itself is about 25% open, 25% floating ice bits, and 50% covered.

HOWEVER

There is a lot of moving ice on the lake still. If the wind blows the wrong way, a massive ice sheet could come close it down again.

I would wager by next week the vast majority of the lake will be open and you'll have not trouble at all.

Based on what I saw today, I'm planning to launch a boat at Lindon myself this week.

Well my one and only confrence call got cancelled today so the boss let me go early. So I decided to go down to Utah Lake for a little spring training.

The area around Lindon Harbor is open water, but there is still a lot of ice out further.

Fishing was decent, but we netted a big ZERO on the catching board. Had a hold of a decent white bass but he had other plans, and spit my hook out on the cement slabs before taking off.

Lots of bites, but no takers. Maybe come Monday....

At the entrance of af harbor is open as well. Just did a little quick peak before going back home. Might have to give the open water a try.

I fished lindon yesterday, the west side of lindon marina is open from the boat ramp out to open lake. there's still alot of ice a few hundred yard out. battle creek is ice free all around it. there is alot of carp all over the area, I caught about 2 dozen scales and landed 4 carp over 8 lbs and lost a bunch more. only caught 1 white bass and that was off the docks.
