There is a Bass Tournament being held on Lake Powell at the end of March.
This event is called a “Qualifier” because it is an elimination tournament that decides who will represent the State of Utah
next year and fish against several other states teams.

The federation president Brent Daybell is looking for more fisherman who don’t have access to a boat and would like to fish this event. The (non-boater) will draw their boater all three days and the experience will be amazing! 3 days on Lake Powell, learning how to catch bass and seeing some beautiful country!

DATES: 28-30th of March

Here are the requirements:

Federation Dues - 40.00 annually
Tournament Entry Fee - $225
Gas money to help with the 3 days (typically 40.00 per day)

I would recommend this to anyone who ever thought of trying tournament fishing. This is where it starts at the grassroots. You don't have to be a professional and you don't have to be the greatest fisherman. I started doing this three years ago and have really made light year leaps in my fishing knowledge. I have never finished near the top or in the money, but I have made some great new friends and learned a bunch. Three or Four of your favorite poles, a small tackle box of common bass lures, a life jacket and your pretty much ready to go. Give Brent a call or PM me with any questions about the process, I would be happy to help get you started. Give it a try!
