Anyone have any suggestions on where to find extra extra wide booties for float tubing? Can't seem to find any wide enough to accomidate heavy socks so I can keep my feet warm when tubing in cold weather.

Suggestion, Nylon socks and Neoprene bootie. What are you wearing? You can even get Smart Wool that is a thin sock.

[#0000FF]I float tube right up until iceup and am back on the water while there is still ice floating around in March. I use 3.5 mm neoprene waders...a couple of sizes larger than for warmer water...and also use the neoprene divers' booties. I wear a size 13 shoe but have to buy size 16 booties to cram the extra socks and neoprenes inside. Also, make sure your fin foot pockets are large enough to hold that extra volume without constricting your feet.

If you look for divers' supply online you will find a few websites that sell fins, booties, etc. One of my fave sites is http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear/Boots.html That is one of the few places I could find boots in size 16.

Also, you do not need the ones that go above the ankle...with zippers. More expense and not necessary. I buy the low-cut and then cut a short slit in the top front to make it easier to slip them on. (see pic). They will hold in place okay with the fins on, so you don't need to secure them. But if you do, you can use neoprene glue to add a short closure strap with velcro...as in the picture.

Tube Dude, where do you get sizes up to 16 in neoprene booties. I currently use neoprene booties but xl from Caddis is all I can seem to find around here.

[#0000FF]Click on the link in the reply above. That will take you to the booties section for Scuba.com. You can also check out [/#0000FF][#0000ff]SWIM OUTLET DIVERS BOOTS[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Even living in a large city with several skin diving shops it is difficult to find extra large sizes. Just about have to shop online. The good news is that they usually have better prices than you can find at a dive shop...even with shipping.

I also just did a quick check on Amazon. There are some size 16's available for under $30.
