Did some fishing below the dam today. Man it was nice out. So I did not catch a thing. Any suggestions on how to catch some small mouths down there this time of year?

I have been down to Swan twice this year and the fishing has been slow both times. Fished below the dam from shore once and was skunked and then launched my boat this past weekend. Caught a couple smallies and one nice trout (hit a crankbait.) But overall nothing to write home about.

Went down yesterday and fished for a while. Caught four decent sized fish. We are so close to them blowing up. Excited for warm weather and chilling on the water.

I intend to head down again tomorrow. I will post a report on conditions and fishing if I make it there.

I headed down to Swan tonight. Windy and white caps but the fishing was pretty good. No big ones, but lots in the 12" range.

I went down the last 2 days. I caught a minimum of 30 fish per day. Probably closer to 50. It's "ON AT SWAN!".

I've been fishing above the dam and running up the river a fair distance. I got a scale for the 2nd day and my best fish weighed on the 2nd day was 2 lbs 5 oz. Caught a lot of fish in the 2 lb range.

I am so excited!! I love this time of year. Weather warming up and fish waking up. My weekend starts in the morning and I might just head down there to try it out after a little nap. Lowell opens up here in about 10 days, looking forward to that too!

Here are a couple of Friday's fish. Might have some pics from Saturday in a few days. I'll have to see how they turn out.

Well went and did some bank fishing below the dam today. Had the kids so did more playing in the sand then actual good fishing. Did catch this though. First time I have seen perch below the dam. Pretty cool. Never caught a perch on a crank bait.

We must have more aggressive perch over here on the eastern side of the state as I've caught a bunch on cranks, jerkbaits, even a slug-go. There was even an evening where we got into a big school of them mixed in with smallies, and I was catching them on a small Spook. All my best perch have come while fishing for bass, though most of those were on drop shots, however I caught one fatty on a 4" hula grub.

I've never fished Swan Falls and my girls (8&10) and I were itching to give it a shot. We loaded up the boat yesterday morning and headed out. We made it to Hwy 45 & Lake Shore and stopped to put some air in the trailer tires. It was there we realized we had a blown out bearing on the boat trailer. Long story short, we never made it to Swan Falls, but we have new bearings in the trailer. Maybe next week.

Put some Bearing Buddies on your trailer . They are a spring loaded dust cap for your bearings . I bought my 18' Inboard outboard new 25 years ago and have never lost a bearing . Pump them full of grease once a year . They are less than $ 20.00 .

I really never have had any luck with crank baits or stick baits. Im going to have to try them more often. I fish a lot of soft plastics. Love slamming the bass on them. I really want to get a boat and go up river to small mouth fish.
