I had a scary thing happen today. I was going into the sturgeon hole and it was cold. It was 25 degrees and ice on everything. I got to no name rapids and got out to drag the boat. I was about 1/2 way and I slipped and fell into the river. I had a hold of the boat in one hand and I was scratching everything I could to get back up. I fell again over a second rock as I was trying to get up and I went in deeper. I was up to the top of my waders and Now I was in get-r-done mode. Some how I got back on the boat and didn't lose anything. I said a prayer for safety before I left and I big thank you God when I got out. The river is super low and hard to get into the hole.
Well after that I had a tough day. I got one fish in the 6 foot range and lost a pile of them. The line broke a couple times so it is time for new line. Anyway it was a long day and I cheated death again. Ron

Mister,
Be careful. I have a extra inflatable life jacket. I lose it every winter. Just found it. Again.
I am glad your safe and your boots did not weigh you down.

I actually had a hand line i was dragging it with. I normally have a line attached to me when I am fishing too. I didn't think of the ice on the rocks, should have. Ron

Ron I'm glad that things turned out well in an otherwise risky moment. We all look to you as a seasoned vet and leader in this sort of fishing so when something like this happens we quickly realize that none of us are exempt from unexpected pitfalls. Grateful that you continue to share your adventures so that we can continue to learn from your trips.

Be careful Ron, you need to teach me Idaho catfish before you succumb to nature. And a chucker and pheasant hunt or two together.

And our Sturgeon fix for the year.
