I got out today with a couple of High School Seniors from Texas for their first trip on the Big-G. The lake lived up to it's reputation with some nice quality fish right at the start. They were able to catch fish in some deep grass on A-rigs and swimbaits and the action was consistent until the Gail-Force winds started. We then found that it wasn't just hard to keep the boat in the right depth of the areas we were in, but just trying to keep our balance with the strong wind gusts and the high waves was more than frustrating. They did at least get to enjoy some good fishing while it lasted. The fish are really feeding aggressively right now since they are getting ready for the spawn, and the next few weeks should be a blast going after them. Have fun, Mike Carter.
