Not really understanding where you were.
So did you go along the north side of the reservoir, and then past Sage Hen Flat to the top of Trail Cr Rd.? Or did you come in from Blackfoot across Trail Cr Bridge and went all the way to the Reservoir?

If you went along the reservoir, are the edges melted enough to fish?

Went up the west side of the lake past Hopkins landing hung a left on trail creek. Lake is still locked up but imagine it will start receding in a week or two.

thank you, thats prob the best way for me to hit brush creek too. if the lake is still locked up then the creek bottom is prob still covered with some snow, right where rawlings and brush meet up is where im wanting to hit. dont get much sun thru there.

Sorry I had a brain fart and mixed up the two roads I drove to trail creek as well. still plenty of snow can't get pass the snowmobile trailhead.

Where is the snowmobile trail-head? Is that coming in on the Blackfoot side? Thanks!

The snowmobile trailhead on trail creek is on south trail canyon road. The road is plowed to the trailhead and the is a warming house and restroom there. You get there by turning off 34 by the plant in Soda.

I just saw this in the regs. You have to wait until July anyway. Sad

Blackfoot River and tributaries
Section: From the confluence with the Snake River upstream to Blackfoot Dam (Government Dam) - Southeast Region general rules apply

Section: Upstream from Blackfoot Reservoir
• December 1 through June 30 - closed to fishing
• July 1 through November 30 - trout limit is 6, no harvest of cutthroat trout, no bait allowed, barbless hooks required

brush creek dumps into the river though, not the lake. its open year round. the lave and river above has a season though. u should check it out before mid may.

I got mixed up because I was thinking Lower Blackfoot River. If you go on past Sage Hen Flats, you eventually come to the Morgan Bridge area. There is a Trail CREEK Rd that goes between Morgan Bridge and Trail Creek Bridge. I couldn't imagine that they had a snowmobile lot way in there! My mistake in that I forgot about Trail Creek CANYON Rd that goes into the Upper Blackfoot River. Two Trail Creeks on the same river drainage does make it confusing! [Tongue]

You could make it Minor Creek driving. After that would be not a good try.

Depending on the weather the county will start plowing the road after Apr 1st.

Thanks.
I was down in Pocatello so I took a drive to Ft Hall and went out the Simplot Mine Rd that links up to LonePine. It had a road closed sign on it just where it turns to gravel. So I ran on up to Blackfoot River Rd in the Wolverine Canyon area. They have a road closed sign on it just past Alridge.

I hiked down upstream of Wolverine and fished for a bit. I caught one fish for my effort. No pictures. I forgot both my camera and my hat. [crazy]

What road is open? And what condition is it in?

al the rds are open and dry, couple nasty spots headed in and out of brush creek on both sides but wasnt to bad. lincon creek to damn is bone dry. fishing was slow so headed over to south fork and we nailed them, big pre spawners held up in deep gravel holes, drag some big nasty streamers and hol don.
