This was posted by a fisherman at Lake Mead. I never thought that Tilapia would grow this big in Lake Mead. I use to net them out of the Gila River in Yuma Arizona.
One Tilapia is 4.5 pounds wow! I thought they would never reach that size at Lake Mead being a very warm-water species.
The Gizzard Shad are big. And as a bonus I read the Arizona fishing reg for 2014 you can use live Gizzard Shad at the Colorado River. Oh just the thought of those Shad laying millions of eggs and feeding the hungry Stripers! But they lower the plankton for the smaller fish[:/]
