Anyone been to lower fish creek in last week or two? Wondering how bad the flow is or if there is still abundant skim ice. PM's are welcome.

Thanks

They shut the water off from the dam on February 25th so it will be tough fishing. There are springs that come in down the canyon a ways that keep the lower portion of the river alive but the fish will be spooky. Ice shouldn't be a problem. Good luck if you go.

Went a couple weeks back and on the way lower end, where the White River runs in, it was chocolate. Hiked up to the confluence and LFC was clear but only a few inches deep in most places with a bunch of spots where there was ice and snow over the whole creek.

Anyone been there recently? Would like to fish it again because its just over the hill from me, but don't want to drive over there for chocolate water.

LFC has little to no water. I have never seen it this low. I can't say what it looks like at the confluence. The river is so low that congregations of chubs literally look like salmon runs in Alaska, although they're a lot smaller fish.

The family was in Price last weekend for spring break and I went a took a look at the conditions for myself and was sorely disappointed. It has always been low in the past at this time of year, but not as bad as this year. Anyone who knows this creek knows the regular low water cycles it goes this through and how well it can rebound, but this one may take a while, especially with all the chubs.

Who knows, maybe if it dries out pretty bad, a lot of those dang chubs will die off. It might suck for the trout fishing for a bit but I remember the good ol days of big knarly browns and very few chubs.
