Went bank yanking at Cascade Saturday with my 2 grand daughters, a friend, and 2 of his kids. We fished off the sandy beach at Blue Heron.
Started fishing around 11 or 11:30 and fished until about 5. We caught a total of 10 fish for 7 rods out. Power bait, power eggs, and worm/corkie (scented with garlic and un-scented) all seemed to work about equally well. Some fish came close to the bank (about 3-40 feet out) while other were out as far as we could cast.
All the fish caught were trout with most of them in the 15-17 inch range with a couple smaller ones and 1 bigger one that was ballparking 20-22 inches.
Ice was moving around on the lake and was fairly close to shore at times and was way out there at others. A boat could have been launched at BH but the amount of fishable water from there would have been extremely limited. The ice did not appear to be very thick, but it is difficult to tell from a distance.
I think we are getting very close to the lake being very boatable.
That's my report. Hope you find it helpful.
