I'm just curious how is the ice condition on strawberry. Is these safe areas to get on the ice for one more last trip if possible where? As well any pictures of the ice on the lake I'd appreciate it.

Yes, it is very safe to get on the ice essentially anywhere at Strawberry, except where rivers are flowing into the reservoir. Was there Saturday and the edges were totally solid and the ice was at least 24 inches thick.

So KOF how did you do?

I landed 18 and lost over 10, after having them hooked. Nothing over the slot and only one rainbow (fished the Strawberry Marina area).

I fished the SC side yesterday 3/31. The ice is 24-inches thick & no sign of thawing; however, the water clarity has been around 20 feet in the past & I noticed yesterday you could see only about 10 feet into the water. So there must be some run off starting to happen.

Friends of mine went to berry saturday on sleds. They fished in the narrows country and said the ice is 3 feet thick out there. It'll be day or two before it all comes off. Fishing was good. Said they all landed over ten apiece. Mostly cutts & bows but did catch a few kokanees too. I planned to go but had 2 heifers decide to calve and needed my assistance. Woe is me.[

Thanks guys for the info. I'm heading out tomorrow. Luckily I stopped by scheel and they have amazing deal on the 6" clam auger for $34.99 instead of 79.99
I sure give up on eskimo products. There ice augers SUCK!!! First one blade broke in half got it exchange then the handle broke!!!" Eskimo build cheap for frustration fishing days."
Next season NILS!!!

Oh the pains of being a farmer...it's a very rewarding pain though. Too bad there weren't more people with that pain.[
