Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Ray Demmert, a previous customer of mine, along with two of his customers, Brian Mann from Philadelphia and Nick Topper from Atlanta, chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. Winds were out of the northeast 15-20 mph and seas were running 4-5 ft.

We stopped to pick up a dozen live Goggles Eyes from T&T Bait. Fifteen minutes later we were at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale FL. We went right into kite fishing by putting out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one live Goggle Eyes from the rigger. As we were sitting waiting for his arrival, Ray began telling war stories from his previous trips. All of a sudden a Mahi Mahi attacked the left short kite bait – Nick was our angler and he brought in a nice Mahi Mahi.

From there we reset the kite and Brian was our next angler up. Sailfish – left long kite – exiting the water as the sun reflected on his blue and silver neon colors. Twenty-five minutes later Brian brought the Sailfish to the boat and Mark, our mate, brought it in for picture taking and release. We set up the kite again and caught the following: Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Bonitos, and Kingfish.

The anglers retired into the a/c salon aboard the Happy Day Today for the trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
