9-11 April 2014 Lake Guntersville – This report is for the Wednesday and Friday as I spent Thursday on Tim’s Ford catching Smallmouth with Wednesday’s clients. The warm weather has really pushed the fish up and they are starting to bed. In short Guntersville is on fire as Ryan and Grant boated over fish today including 4 very good 5 fish limits …we are still seeing most fish are running 2-4 pounds with several over 5 pounds in the mix and each day boating well over 20-30 fish. We caught them in water ranging from 1-8 foot. We fished main lake pockets for the most part today from Roseberry down to Water Front. Water temperatures have rebounded nicely this afternoon to 67 degrees. Our best results continue to come on T-Rigged D-Bomb (Super Bug and Candy Grass) from Missile Baits, Tightline Football head jig (Guntersville Special and Green Tequila) with twin turbo tail trailers from Missile Baits in 2-6 FOW and today Ryan and Grant put most of their fish in the boat using a 3/8 ounce Assassinator “Slam’in Guntersville Red” Buzz Bait. Now is the time to get you reservations in for the start of top water bite and the Shad Spawn in May.
