Our week of scouting had us just a little bit worried about finding 5 fish to weigh in. I scouted the lower end this week and Catfish1 scouted the mid lake and upper end. Based on our results and knowing that most everyone would be fishing mid to upper end, I opted to go south just like the ducks in winter. emoBig

We hit one dock that had some good fish on it last week with a tarp being one of them, but the fish had either moved or been caught out by other fishermen before the tournament. We only got 2 keepers there. After a futile search in the very shallow brush in that cove, we moved to the back end of a marina and had good luck. We had our 5 fish limit in short order and a few more keepers to spare. When that bite slowed down, we decided to come back up the lake to avoid such a long ride when the wind got rough and managed to catch a couple more fish in various places out of the wind. We had the entire lower end all to ourselves. We were the only dummies that would go down there after the pitiful reports from that end of the lake all spring.

We got soaked on the ride back to CFP by the cross winds blowing spray onto us when we hit the 3 and 4 foot rollers. Boat took a pounding, but is still in good working order. I hope that old fishermen are just as good in the morning.

emoBig

Congratulations to all the winners of prizes and all who participated in the tournament. Candi, you put on a great tournament and Chris, you did a bang up job on the mike at the scales.
