Mike and I pre-fished Friday with not so good results. We found fish and caught plenty, but no size. We had a game plan to start shallow and try to get a quick limit of some black crappie then hunt for some bigs.......didn't turn out that way. We left the fish biting the night before and when we returned, only a few small ones wanted to play. We moved out of the 2-5 ft of water into a little deeper water in the park and still struggled. We moved to a dock we normally produce on and caught 2 keepers pretty quick. Decided to scan a brush pile in the park we have been wanting to fish, and there they were, we got our limit out of the way and started running. We moved south only to find Hurricane Hugo in full force, and couldn't hold over our brush pile because of the wind. Moved back north to a spot we had caught some nice keepers the day before and nada, started working back south and the wind was so bad, decided to move back in the park. We went back to brush pile where we whacked them good again, just no size. Ended up with 3.46 for our best 5, 4 were 11" and 1 over 12". It was great to see all the CRAPPIE LEGENDS in one place at the same time, and was a fun day. Once the 3rd degree burns heal up on my face and bald head, we will hit the water again. Great tourney! We have figured out if there is a slot limit tourney for crappie, we would win it every time. We are the kings of 10"-10.25. Congrats to the winners!
1/32 and 1/16 jigs (float and fly) w/BG Outlaw Special
1/32 and 1/16 jigs BG Blue Thunder
1/8 Outlaw Special
1/16 BG Monkey Milk w/tail light.
Lots of cover and structure anywhere from 2-20ft were fished today.
