Has anyone tried the pig for Kokes lately? Been noticing lots of murky water in the rivers has this made porcupine stained? Been wanting to try the pig, but if things are marginal I'll wait a couple weeks and try something else. Thanks J

Went up on Sunday just for a Sunday Drive with the family and the water has come a lot. I am trying to wait to hit it hard until I have my boat up here. Also, I have been to busy to do any fishing lately since I have been hitting the books and getting final projects done. Only saw one gentleman fishing in a kayak didn't see him hook up. Water did look a little murky.

Hey thank you for the update, did you notice if the boat ramp on that second draw looked usable? Thanks J

If you have a small boat yes. At least I would use it.

Sounds good thank you. My boat is a 16' glass boat and its sort of at the limit for that launch. If the traction is good I'm okay but if it was wet I could be in trouble. We need to get up there after the Kokes again, let ya catch one from a boat now you got your iced ones off the list. I haven't tried to jig them before but I bet it would work. I like to troll for em so I can stay on top of them more often. I'll try to put a post on here when I go try, let me know if ya want to ride along? Thanks again J

And you'll probably do it on a weekday...[:/]

Been a while since I ran my downrigger, and I seriously need to give that another try. Only launched that lake once, and it was --- well an "entertaining" outing. Not for fishing so much as launching. BUT - I've learned a bit better. Plus - collected up a nice array of Koke lures. Really need to wet them down!

If you find yourself in need of a netter, you know my number.
Sounds like fun, just sent for my boat license and I got the new down rigger mounted and my ff made it back from humminbird so except for a kitchen pass I'm ready to go. Not sure ill get a pass with Easter weekend and all, hoping the next one might work. Might take a short kitty trip early Saturday morning, but will probably need to be home by 10 or 11. Later J

I have a couple questions for you guys that obviously know whats going on up there. I launched a small boat up there one time. I launched in not a very good spot I backed down a steep gravel draw and launched is that the first launch?? Then when I got on the water I saw a couple bigger boats that had to have launched somewhere different because there trucks werent where I launched. I have heard of a second launch farther up. Where is the second launch and is it better than the first?? I now have a 17' lund and I have not dared launch at the first launch because it just seemed way to steep and traction could be an issue on pull out..Have any of you launched at the second launch and could you give me any info on it? I love fishing up there just havent for the last couple years since I got my newer bigger boat.

I use the same draw you did and I agree its steep and loose and a very tough spot. Depending on water level there is an area up in the creek mouth area that is dirt and gravel but not as tough of a spot. I used it years ago and it was okay, but I figured the closer spot would be better, I may try going up farther next time. All of the spots are not the best and require some care. Later J
