Had to take one last trip up to the SF Clearwater. Couldn't get any of the fish to hit that were close enough to the bank to use my fly rod on (I think they had been "sight fished" too much) but we were were able to find a sand bar in the middle of the river that was a bit hard to see from the road that had fish stacked up on it, and the spin rod with corkies, yarn, and pencil lead came out. Fished yesterday and today and landed 7 between two of us.
Not too many of the fish were still pretty like this one; most of them looked like Frankenstein fish or at least like all the paint was falling off of them. It did seem like the pretty ones didn't have clipped fines. Wonder if there is a correlation.
