You've got too much time on your hands.

You have NO idea! (PS: Getting my garden tilled today!)

But seriously - couple fish-heads from the store, some veggie "guts" (broccoli stalks, cauliflower centers, onion, celery - and spice) put on to a boil, and do something else. Freeze and vacuum seal "allocations". It's a worthy cause.

Got a smoked Turkey carcass and Pork loin bone going in next. I bake my own bread and make pizza from scratch and roll my own pasta too. Labor of love.
You sound like me. I make 3 styles of pizza from scratch but my Chicago Style deep dish needs a little refinement. My garden is already pumping out full heads of lettuce for 2 of 3 varieties I planted. Spinach is ready to start picking and 2 of my tomato plants have tomatoes. Most are just starting to produce flower buds. I have about a half dozen herbs I've been picking including thyme. All but the cilantro "wintered" over (did we have winter this year?). Just had to cover up a few things maybe once a week since February with this mild weather. The early planting gamble paid off this year.

I was trying to find a good deep dish dough recipe, but need to experiment more. Got any recipes to share? Sourdough's a fun experiment.

Wiperhunter had started a Gardening thread in past years. Maybe needs some updated posts. Carp are good fertilizer I hear told.
Tomatoes already? You're a bold one (walls of water?)
My Cilantro used to turn out Coriander, and volunteered new starts quite well. Love self-propogating plants.

Fully intend to convert lawn to perennials, rather grown than mow! Ice cube trays of pesto went great with fresh pasta. The old garden was divided into veggies, herbs, flowers, and fermentables. Sure my hops are still thriving. Got some horseradish root ready for a home.
Scrolling through that list sure is a blur of bows. The occasional Brown bump, or a Cut here and there. Later they'll have the Catfish in the CP, but never seems like much else planted. Mostly rely on recruitment I guess.
You and our other river-buds inspire me to "use the bones". Thought I'd give it a try. Wasn't so much soup as stock fixings. Strained out the goop, but the broth is rich with flavor. Impressive how much bite a dash of Creole and a few dried Habaneros offer.
I did spare a stack of Perch parts for broth once.

Did you make it down to UL yet?

I should probably move this post to the Fish Recipes thread. But then the gardening talk and rainbows would be out of place...
No, I made it down south but never made it out fishing. I didn't want to get skunked for my first outing.
