Thinking of hitting the bear at the refuge this Saturday unless it's pouring rain ):!!! It will be my first trip of the year for cats has anyone fished the refuge yet? If so how'd it go and what worked the best this early in the year? Minnows? Thanks for any advice I'll post a report how I did

Thanks! I'll try that! I'll let you know how I do do you ever go on forest street clear down by the cement boat ramp and fish? I've always wondered down that far I usually fish before that like the first couple bends by the road!

fish the swings and above all.. keep the bait off the bottom the river is 8 feet avg and there are 15 foot holes on most bends,, the bottom is mud fyi keep the bait above the bottom and you will have a good time

I didn't make it out today it rained all day and didn't feel like getting poured on! But I usually fish the bends but I fish with a egg sinker so I put my liver or shrimp right on the bottom and do good! I wanna make it out there soon maybe tommrow!

Launched my boat in corrine a few days ago and went down river a couple of miles. Stopped and fished a few bends, did catch 6, biggest was 19 inches.

How do you keep the bait off the bottom? If you've got a sliding sinker up-line, do you add something to float the bait? Of just figure if it's free, the current while swing it?

I add beads sometimes, but haven't tested their floatation vs the wet of hook/bait.

I need to come down and try your end of the river sometime. Found one of the launches in Tremonton, was going to try a cast on my way home, but a rather large person was asleep under the bridge. Looked like he needed his rest, so . . .
