It was a tough day for us to say the least. We really started well with the first bass in the boat being 4 lbs and 6 ozes. emoThumbsup I thought for sure we were going to have a banner day. It was downhill from there for us most of the day. I did not know it but my main rod I have been using for a shakey rod had 12 lb fluorocarbon line on it. I bought the stuff this year. It was Berkley line I had bought from Wal-Mart. Been on the reel maybe three weeks but it had already gone bad and I did not know it. I broke two off what felt like good bass when I set the hook. emoMad Then I had another nice keeper come off reeling him in when he jumped about eight foot away. Gave me my shakey back. James also had a really nice one that looked every bit as good as the one I had in the well pull down hard on a run, he tells me to get the net, I go for the net, she comes up about 15 feet out and clears the water. A nice four pound plus, but...you guessed it...she throws the bait back at us too. emoBadLanguage Four freaking nice bass all got off or broke off. emoHoppingmad Finally I managed our second keeper that went 3 pounds and 1 oz. The only thing we could get them to hit was slow plastics fished anywhere from 2 foot to about 6 foot. We boated several other shorts and had only those two in the well for some time. It was about 12:15 and James started fishing a yum dinger rigged TX style. He kept getting hits but he could not keep them on. It looked like they were just trying to move the bait, so we think they were bedding bass. We were shallow, so shallow I was turning up mud with the trolling motor. He finally hooks one and it loads up his rod. Another good keeper from about two foot of water. It went right at 3 lbs even. Other then a couple more shorts those were the only keepers we actually got in the boat. emoRedface We felt very lucky to have our three fish limit. Surprised us at the weigh in that most everyone struggled. Our three went 10.47 lbs and were good enough to take third. emoDance

It was also a good day cause I beat Nunley. emoEvil

Thanks for putting it on guys, had a lot of fun even if we did not have a lot of bass. emoThumbsup Jmax
