So who's going after wipers in Willard this week?
I'll bet it's going to be a little crowded!

I'd sure like to, but I think I need to be responsible and get some work done at home, good luck if you chase them.... Later J

I'll be out there tomorrow, maybe Friday too but it shouldn't be too bad on Sat either.
Warm weather always gets folks out on the Bay but so far this year I have yet to see a water skier and there really hasn't been a lot of folks out on the lake. Good luck if you make it up here.

I am going but I prefer not to fish on Saturday with the masses. Fiday morning works for me.

C'mon J, responsibility is waayyyy overrated.

I will be there, croud or not, I do not have the luxury of during the week fishing yet.

Don't twist my arm too hard, addicts have a hard time resisting and I really need to get my hay planted before it gets too late. Especially when I want to check that wiper off my bucket list really bad. Will be really hard to resist, that's for sure. So have some fun for me. Later J

Does your Smoker have a 175 Opti hanging on the back?
Willard can be mighty good to a guy one day and then crap all over you the next.
I actually use Willard as a teaching tool. If I have a few easy trips to other lakes I will hit Willard cause it usually hones a guys skills because it really makes you fish hard/smart to pull off consistently good days there.

Just a 115. I was skunked tonight. The family lasted about 5 minutes in wind. I got about an hour trolling north end along the dike. Will try something else early.

Got on Willard from south about 8:30 this morning. WH2 launched same time. South marina has JUST ENOUGH
depth if you keep your motor trimmed up. Was going to swap out the bunks on my trailer, but realized last night that the sale price Trex I bought (to end the rotting wood issue) wasn't wide enough to fit the brackets. So I'll work on that another time. I did get my side guides replacement project finally finished last night about 8:30 PM.

Yep, that's WH2 walking toward the front of my truck.
He headed for the island, I headed toward Freeway Bay. Never saw him again all day, but his rig was still in the lot when I pulled out at 2 PM. Anniversary today, had to get home and get cleaned up for a big fancy dinner @ Wingers lol......[sly]

I did manage to scare the skunk out of my boat. It went very reluctantly clawing and scratching all the way. But did manage to boat 1 cookie cutter Wiper after 2.5 hours on the water.

Saw 2 fairly unusual sights on the water today. A Float plane (you know "De plane, De plane") shootin touch and goes, and actually landed and looked like it "taxied" over close to the south marina buoys. Tried to get a photo but way too far away. Second thing, not unusual really, I've just never seen it on Willard. A quite large Wiper (guessing in the 24-25" 5-6 lb range) was "Hauling Butt" in a straight as a string bee line toward the south marina. He couldn't have been more than 5 feet away from the side of my boat, and was like a high speed torpedo locked on to a surface target. Saw him plain as day but only for a second or 2, just a foot or less under the surface. We passed each other like cars on an freeway in opposite directions......never seen that before so close to the surface.

Will try again in the morning..................[fishin]
