Headed to cj tomorrow with my granddaughter. Want her to catchsome fish. Anybody have current info on the hump...

I have seen recent posts about the narrows and around cottonwood.

Fishing the narrows would give better options for big bass, but I'm more wanting perch, bluegill and crappie for a good meal..

You will find all those in the narrows. I could count on one hand the times I have been over to CJ and there wasn't a mass of boats on the hump. This year, however, it is all but deserted much of the time. If the narrows don't work out, try straight out from Cove. The perch in there are thick. However, if you don't keep your worm moving, they aren't interested. Kids have more fun actively fishing anyway. Start practicing your surprise at how nice and big those 5-7" perch your kids are catching are!!! Mike

Easily got into a bunch of little crappie, perch, and bluegill. After having fun for a coupl of hours went bassing. Caught a bunch of nice bass. Caught one that showed 4.4 lbs on the scale. My granddaughter caught a couple of decent bass.

Didn't seem to matter where we went. Fish were everywhere..

You gonna let any secrets out of the bag ... maybe bait type and/or location?

Thanks In Advance

In the narrows. We used spinnerbaits.

I got 3 that were all about this size. Only actually targeted the bass for about an hour. Caught a dozen keepers in all, and about that many in the 11 to 12 inch range..
