Fished Pelican today with Tincanfsh, Kayote, K2, and a friend of Kayote. Great company, nice weather, and fishing was wonderless. Tincanfish had the hot hand today.

Come on!
I love Pelican, never fished it in the winter, tell me more!!!!! It's a long distance for me but I've been really tempted to try it in the winter. What were the ice conditions? Where on the lake? What did you catch, size, what did you use, how long were you there? Any sign of the parasites? Come on, give a guy a break! Tell me more. LOL
Well you asked for it. It's a long distance for me also (I live in South Davis County) and this is the first time I have fished it. Ice was at least 6 inches thick, with a little water on the ice next to shore, because the water is rising. We fished several places on the west end of the lake, from all the way across from the boat ramp, to right in front of the boat ramp. We fished from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. No sign of parasites; however, parasites are never a problem if you don't catch fish. Tincanfish lost a bass at the hole, and there were a few bites missed (none by me). Kayote could never remember it being so slow. I tried those clips that were discussed on the board awhile back, and they work great, but not for ice fishing -- because the jig does not hang horizontal (may have been the reason I didn't get any bites) and I took them off, but probably not soon enough.
