Had planned on taking my son, Eric, & his wife to the NC mtns. for some fly fishing today, but they had something come up at the last minute. Hooked up & got to the ramp about 9:30. Missed the early bite & it was dead calm with no current til about 11:30. Did catch 4 , but lots of fish bump the bait but not eat it. Finally a little south breeze started, but I lost 2 straight fish, but then had a solid 2.5# on a point that dropped into 15'. Moved to a shallow ridge & get a 4.1#. Try another 2ndary point & get a 4.8#. Caught 2 more 15" fish & pull out at 3:45 as I got tired of fighting the whitecaps! Got a good sun & windburn too!
