Myself and a buddy hit Willard today. My boat is not really set up to troll as I'm usually fishing structure or shoreline. We buzzed across the lake and first cast was a smallie. Caught a couple more and then nothing. Then nothing. Trolled using the bow mount and landed some wipers and walleyes. Not really knowing what we were doing but one of those fake it 'til you make it things and it worked out.
Wiper, walleye, smallmouth, largemouth, catfish, carp and crappie. Kept some crappie, wiper and walleye for dinner. Water clarity is a lot better than I remember it being but it has been a long time since I've been there.
Other anglers were courteous and helpful, skiers stayed out from fishermen, my buddy caught his first wiper and lost one that we will talk about for a long time. Awesome day. However, those bugs suck. The mosquito's do a good job at blending in for a sneak attack.

[#0000FF]Nice work.

Even a blind bassaholic finds other species sometimes.

What time of day were you there? Wife and I launched at 5 and trolled from the south maina over to freeway bay and back using the bow mount. Plenty of room and peace, although a lull in the breeze did let the bugs overwhelm for a bit.

We both caught our first walleyes. 3 on crawler harness, 5 on crank baits. None were found in less than 10 ft. of water. One small wiper and crappie also came in on a large deep diving shad rap. Fish were caught at both sub 1mph and 2.2mph.
