Saturday - Decided to try my hand at Willard, and boy was that a great decision!

Showed up at 8:30am to plenty of bugs, boats, and sun. I broke out my favorite grapefuit "juice" and got to work..........

CvFisher was there with his two sons. One of his son's picked up the 1st fish this 5lb carp...............

Sure enough CvFisher was the 1st to get into a wiper............

And then his other son was chosen by the wipers with 2 clones....

I was the 1st to break the 20 inch mark with this 21.75 inch 3lb 15 oz wiper....

Then Tom's son busted the 20 mark with a 21.75 inch wiper...

By 2:30pm Tom and his family was done and I just had to get a stringer shot of all of our fish. They managed 9 wipers and a carp.

After they left I managed the smallest wiper of the day at 15 inches but I was just getting warmed up! Wierd to see a frill deformity on that wiper. I have only seen it on a brook trout in the uintas.

I caught 11 more wipers after they left!!! Here was another 21.75 inch wiper.....

And a 22 inch 5lb carp........

By 7pm I became the typical willard local, sunburnt and smelling like a combonation of suncreen, bug spray, bait, and sweat. The bugs got worse, I ran out of bait but not before ending the day with this wiper that was a hair under 22 inches and 4lbs.

With 14 wipers and 1 carp I headed home very happy with my choice of trying out willard.

Sunday - EvilTyeDye went to Grantsville to windsurf/fish. It was terrible for both and he was back in bed by 10:30am.

We started to head out to a favorite distant haunt when our car broke down. We got it started but lost enough daylight to where we had to stay local.

1st stop was the Jordan River. After 30 minutes of tossing spinners, spinner baits, rapalas, and various baits we gave up.

EvilTyeDyeTwin bailed and I tried other options in SLC. 1st cast I was rewarded with a decent brown.

I think he left out locations and baits used on purpose. When he got home he did not even tell me where/what he was fishing with.[Wink]

And I gotta agree with Remo......you shoulda busted out that fly rod! Could you imagine a 4 pound Wiper on a 5wt!

Actually I did toss a few flies at 'em! When ever you'd catch a wiper other wipers and small catfish would agressively attack the bait in the caught wipers mouth.

So I had one of Tom's kids reel one in nice and slow and tried throwing the fly in the mess of fish. Sure enough one catfish followed the fly for second but gave up.

I almost netted a few cats while netting the wiper.[crazy]

Take the time to learn the Private Message feature and try me that way.

Leave it to the new guy to hot-spot![mad]
