I just couldn't help myself. Played hookie and headed to Willard again.
Showed up at 4:30pm to the north marina.
Decided to try the ramp area....pretty good choice as I nailed a 10 inch black crappie on the 1st cast!
Within 5 minutes I had a "super crappie" on the end of my line. Sure enough it was a silly little wiper.....
And then I managed a 11.25 inch black crappie.....
After that the boats came in thick, even running over our bobbers at times with little consideration for the shore anglers or each other. Truly a "mad max world" out there.
But no matter I still got into them again, and again, and again...about 11 times to be exact, with several other lost.
With my limit of black crappie it was time to get some pizza, ice, and band aides at Flying J before trying for some bigger wiper.
Arrived at 8:30 with a MASS OF BUGS!!! Did I mention bugs? I looked with a darn crazy person swatting constantly, mumbling obscenities, pacing back and forth. Even with bug spray I could not keep my sanity. I think there are less mosquitoes in the Uintas!
Luckily this wiper helped me hang in there......
I left by 9:30pm, others had fires on the beach and appeared to be in for the long haul.
For me, I had to pick up my twin by 11pm so I couldn't stay.
Here is the last shot....after many shots to be exact.. 3am is the best time to fillet fish anyway.
