Took my crew out today before they have to hit the books again tomorrow. Couldn't find a cat today. Hit some of my never-fail spots and could not get a bite. Tried Bird Island first -- nothin'. Attached pic shows why Bird Island is called Bird Island.

Finally gave up on the cats and let the crew catch white bass. Let me tell ya something -- you do not want to be in the middle of a boat with three 9-12 yr. old boys chucking curly tail jigs in a ketch 'em contest. Never had so many jigs flash past my nose. Had my hat lifted off once before we decided to try for some carp with the bow.

Catcarsen got a good flock shot at a carp cluster and took a big 27 inch female. Lots of bait for the future.

Good access to Lincoln Beach early in the morning but getting out of the water after about 10 a.m. is a wait in line affair. Good day with the crew even if we did not catch any cats.

Bit of a shocker when we loaded the boat to leave.... my boat license/registration expired April 30th. I've been fishing for the past month with an expired license.
Will never know how I went that long without a citation. Will take care of the license tomorrow. [:/]

Nice boat load! Sure enjoyed the Smile on your boy's face. It's great that you can get out with them.

Great report. Glad to hear it. [:p]

I hear ya on the flingy thing. Have two large nephews in my small craft, and the casting wasn't TOO bad, but the sudden stand and shifts were what got me. MOVE SLOW! So much rock the boat, I almost lost my balance a few times over.

Nice carp-Carsen. Stick it to 'em!

PSST - where's the rest of our team? Still warming up their pitching arms in the dugout? [blush]
Looks like a great day! On the boat registration thanks for the reminder. Mine expires next month.[Smile]
