Reelfast and I got out on Willard this morning for another great day on the Bay. We launched around 8am and were trolling a short time later, water temp was 65*. I started off with the same lures as last week and they were still working. We had 9 wiper, and a couple of walleye in the boat an hour later when we saw Wildcat94 and his group near us landing a fish. Hope you had a good day Bry. We continued to fish the same area until a little before 1pm when another BFT member came along side and we talk for a few minutes. Good to see you again Rod. This was my third best day on the Bay this year but how much longer can it last[:/].
Now getting into the South marina was a joke I haven't seen that many boats since last Summer[crazy]. As always Dan, good to get out there and do some fishing with you. Sorry folks still no pics

Good to see you also Curt. And yes, what a day of fishing. Many 18-20 inch Walleye boated with the occasional wiper. My buddy marked both of those off his bucket list, and the walleye for myself. Sorry no pics of ours either.

Thanks for the ride Curt. It's amazing the Bay can raise the bar fishing.

wh2- good seeing you yesterday buddy, dang WILLARD is so much fun! Yesterday was the best walleye day i have ever had, i believe we boated 30-34 walleye biggest going 24" with many in the18-22" range! WILLARD is straight up EPIC fishing right now!! we managed 24 wipers biggest at 23" and most in the14-18" size. Did catch one that was 4". Fun times for sure

Dude, I thought we did good with 35 in the boat but it sounds like we should have followed you around. We stayed in the same area you saw us in and when you came back a second time we were just leaving. How long did you you stay? Did you notice how many boats were around the Island? Crazy day on the Bay.

yes the island was stacked with boats. we stayed until 130 pm then headed out, i also caught a big 15" crappie which was a nice surprise.. yesterday was a blast!!

Man we went Monday and we had no luck tried crawler harness bottom bouncing no luck last Thursday we smacked them that way . Going about 1.1-1.5 mph no luck that day I never have much luck with lures at the bay must need lessons on what I'm doing wrong any teachers out there lol going again Friday morning we will see then

What area were you bottom bouncing and what colors were you using on your worm harnesses? From the looks of it there were a lot of people bottom bouncing around the Island, that is one of the reasons there was so many people around the Island on Monday. Do you have a gas kicker for trolling faster than 1.5 mph? As I said, I'm not sure how much longer this great bite will last but I bet you could troll about any lure and catch fish at Willard lately. The key is to troll fast 3.5 mph until you find some active fish, then stay around the same area trying different lures and adjusting your speed until you find the right combination that keeps putting fish in the boat.

Awesome, glad to hear you finally made a showing at the Bay, were you fishing in your boat or with someone else. With all the bugs and the temp climbing I'm ready to try something else, you interested in getting up to the Pig soon?

What you talking about fishing the pig when Willard is fishing so good? You tired of eating eyes or is your possession limit near full? I've been wondering about the pig as well, mostly as a crowd control measure and its closer for me. Let me know what ya find I'm thinking it will be good this year from the numbers I seen while ice fishing. Later J

Yea, possession limit has been full for a few weeks now, I've been releasing all the eyes I've caught for the last two week. It was tough last week when we caught 35 eyes that we had to release them all but those are the rules. Besides, I get out fishing 2 or 3 times a week, so one trip to the Pig won't stop me from hitting the Bay at least once a week. Hopefully I'll be getting down to Yuba soon as well.[
] I've been trying to catch a northern for a while now, hopefully this will be the year.

Hey good luck on those trips. If you're hitting the flotilla bring some of those eyes for fish tacos so we can open a little room in that possession limit for ya. The ones I ate the other night were some of the best ones I've ever eaten. So don't want to steal a guys fish, but if you're looking to rotate some we'd be glad to help ya out. Catch ya later J
