My brother, my son and I went to Utah lake, got there a bit late probably around noon. Went to american fork, was packed with a line of boats trying to get into the marina. Went over to Lindon and launched there what a mess it was at the ramp. We tried several spots with only some lowly bullheads. Then hit the honey hole spot which is very typical of utah lake. We ended up with around twenty five Channel cats caught, most were released some will be released in the grease. The cats were very shallow!! Like really shallow in a foot of water up to maybe 18 inches. Had the bait about a foot down from the float. We fished on the north end of the lake, west of Am. Fork marina. Have a great week. 25 cats? Nice!
So you found them in about a foot of water in the early afternoon? That's crazy, I thought they usually went deeper during the day. But they're definitely hungry and are loving the warm weather no doubt. Lindon is one of my favorite spots and I've been finding them in 2-3 feet of water - where it transitions from the rocky shore and vegetation to the muddy bottom.
Thanks for the report and sounds like you guys had a great time!

Yeah it was a bit different catching them that shallow. It was weird seeing them fight on top because the water was so shallow. Another odd thing was that they were just stacked up in that shallow water, oh well I am always open to see and learn new things. Don't know if they were just getting started to spawn or what. Spawn should be real soon!!
